Question 385091: My question is on the Pythagorean Theorom
The question asks:
Ms. Green tells you that a right triangle has a hypotenuse of 13 and a leg of 5.She askes you to find the other leg of the triangle without using paper and pencil. What is your answer.
I tried solving it by subtracting 5 from 13 because of the one rule that says the sum of the two legs will equal the hypotenuse if it is a right triangle, but I am not sure if that works for this.
Thank you

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the "rule" is ___ the SQUARE of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the SQUARES of the other two sides

5^2 + x^2 = 13^2
