You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8^2+15^2=x^2
64+225=x^2
289=x^2
x=sqrt289
x=17 cm.
8^2+y^2=15^2
64+y^2=225
y^2=225-63
y^2=161
y=sqrt161
y=12.7
17+12.7=29.7 ans C) for the sum of x+y.

f the length of two sides of a right triangle are 8 cm and 15 cm, the length of the third side can be x cm or y cm.
Rounded to the nearest tenth centimeter, the sum x + y equals
:
x = sqrt%288%5E2+%2B+15%5E2%29; the two legs of the right triangle
x = 17
and
y = sqrt%2815%5E2+-+8%5E2%29; hypotenuse and 1 leg of the triangle
y = 12.7
:
17 + 12.7 = 29.7
