from the poor description in the question (sorry:-) ), I think you are asking a Pythagoras question...a right angled triangle, hypotenuse 26, base 24 and vertical, x, the unknown...
26%5E2+=+24%5E2+%2B+x%5E2
676+=+576+%2B+x%5E2
100+=+x%5E2
therefore x= +10, -10
Hence the answer here is 10 feet up the pole.
