Question 17137: Ms. Green tells you that a right triangle has a hypotenuse of 13 and a leg of 5. She asks you to find the other leg of the triangle without using paper and pencil. What is your answer? Answer by venugopalramana(3286) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! you have to use pythogarus theorem ,if you have to find the answer analytically without drawing the triangle.the theorem states that in a right angled triangle sum of squares of 2 legs of the right angle is equal to the square of hypotenuse.here hypotenuse is 13 whose square is 169.one leg is 5 whose square is 25.so the square of other leg is 169-25 =144.its square root is 12 .so the second leg is 12.
