According to Pythagorean theorem, half of the base is the leg of the length


    sqrt%2812.5%5E2+-+7.5%5E2%29 = sqrt%28%2812.5-7.5%29%2A%2812.5%2B7.5%29%29 = sqrt%285%2A20%29 = sqrt%28100%29 = 10 meters.


Hence, the entire base is twice as long, i.e.  2*10 = 20 meters.    ANSWER
