You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A says to B i am thrice as old as you are when i was at your age.
If sum of their present ages is 60, then find their present ages individually.
:
let d = the difference in their ages (A-B)
:
A = 3(B-d)
A = 3B - 3d
Replace d with (A-B)
A = 3B - 3(A-B)
A = 3B - 3A + 3b
A = 3A = 3B + 3B
4A = 6B
A = 6%2F4B
A = 1.5B
:
A + B = 60
Replace A with 1.5B
1.5B + B = 60
2.5B = 60
B = 60/2.5
B = 24 yr
Find A
A = 1.5(24)
A = 36 yrs
