Question 579276: To determine whether or not they have a certain desease, 50 people are to have their blood tested. Question 579361: Assume that the pointer can never lie on a border line. Find the following probabilities.
P(A), P(B), P(C), = 1st Wheel has 3 sections named A,B,C > I answered correctly 1/3 for each of those sections in the first wheel.-
P(D), P(E), P(F), = 2nd Wheel has 3 sections named D,E,F
P(G), P(H), P(I) = 3rd Wheel has 4 sections named G,H.I,J J was not included in the question to account for.
Since there are 3 wheels, I assumed each wheel was divided into sections, logically I presumed 3 part wheel, divided into thirds and so on.
I was correct for the first wheel and incorrect for the next two wheels. I initially thought thirds as well for the second wheel and fourths for the third wheel.
I know I am over thinking this, but cannot seem to determine the correct fractional makeup for the second and third wheels. Can someone help me understand this?

Question 579359: A batch of 20 used automobile alternators contains 4 defectives. If 3 alternators are selected at random, find the probability of the events (Using the Rule of combinations):
A= None of the defective appears
B= Exactly two defective appears
The answer for A is .491 the answer for B is .084 but I can not figure out for the life of me how they got these answers.
I've tried 3 of 20 which gave the 1140 total selections possible. Than if there is 4 defective and I want the probability of selecting none. I tried 0 of 4 which doesn't work 1 of 4 likewise doesn't work. I'm stuck. Please help I know this is probably going to be something so simple I am missing.

Question 579853: For my assignment I am asked to explain what is wrong and why it is wrong. The question reads: If a correlation coefficient of r=0.642 was found between two variables in a sample of paired data that were measured in feet, the value of r would change by a factor of twelve if the data were converted to inches and r was computed again.
I have worked several problems that ask you to switch x and y values to calculate r and in those problems when you switch the x and y values r remains the same and that is clear to me. However, this problem has me stumped.
