Question 991196: A vague appointment: Four people make an appointment to meet each other at the cafe in town. However, this particular town has four cafes. What is the probability that none of them meet? Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
The first guy has 4 out of 4 choices. The second guy has 3 out of 4 ways not to meet the first one. The third guy has 2 out of 4 ways not to meet the first two. The fourth guy has 1 out of 4 ways not to meet the other three. The total probability is the product of the 4 individual probabilities. Remember to reduce your fraction.
