Question 975781: Find the odds in favor of drawing a green marble when a marble is selected at random from a bag containing 2 yellow, 5 red, and 6 green marbles
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! There are 6 green marbles, so there are 6 outcomes that we want (out of 2+5+6 = 13 outcomes total)
There are 13-6 = 7 outcomes that we don't want (red or yellow marbles)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Number of outcomes we want: 6
Number of outcomes we don't want: 7
Odds in favor = (wanted outcomes):(unwanted outcomes)
Odds in favor = 6:7
