Question 83387: USE THE DIE AND SPINNER. IF THE RESULTS OF A SECOND INDEPENDENT EVENT DO NOT DEPEND ON THE RESULTS OF THE FIRST ,TWO EVENTS CAN OCCUR AT THE SAME TIME AND ARE CALLED INDEPENDENT EVENTS. TO FIND THE PROBABILTY OF TWO INDEPENDENTEVENTS, MULTIPLY THE PROBABILITS OF EACH EVENTP(A AND B) =P(A)X P(B). P(6AND GREEN MULTIPY1/6AND 2/5 TOGETHER THEN REDUCE THE FRACTION IF POSSIBLE .i don't no how to multiply these fractions please help me .thanks Answer by Mona27(45) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! It's really easy to multiply fractions.
All you have to do is multiply the top part by the top part and the bottom part by the bottom part.
reducing the 6 and the 2, the 6 becomes 3 and the 2 becomes 1:
EDIT BY:Ryanman
or to prevent making silly mistakes on the test, u can multiply top by top and bottom by bottom BUT U DONT HAVE TO CROSS OUT THE 6 AND THE 2 NOW .
SO U CAN DO IT NORMALLY AND SAY
Which is equal to and NOW U CAN REDUCE IT WITHOUT ANY CONFUSION to
good luck!
