Question 810430: Hi Guys, im rackingmy brain trying to figure this one out.
I need to find the z value for a question. The x value is $300,000, the mean is $5million and the standard deviation is $500,000. I need to find the probability that a firms sales figure will lie within 300,000. All i can come up with for the first part %28x-mean%29%2Fstandard+deviation is -9.4, however the z table only goes from -3.9 to +3.9.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Will.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hi,
If your info is ok you did it right, z-score = -9.4
But i must read the question complete, maybe you need the probability that
a firms sales figure will lie within 300,000 around the mean ???
In that case the answer is different
