By the way, it is H sub "oh", not H sub "zero".

And yes, your book does explain this or else you need to go to your instructor/teacher/professor and tell them you want your money back for the inadequate textbook and your money back for your tuition given the instructor/teacher/professor's incompetence at selecting such an inadequate textbook in the first place.
