Question 796681: A poll is taken of 1,000 adults after each election. In a report construct 95% confidence intervals of the relevant population proportion to: Compare the approval rates of President Obama's handling of the oil spill and President Bush's handling of Hurricane Katrina
AUGUST 2011 - MARCH 2006
APPROVE 50% - 36%
DISAPPROVE 38% - 53%
NOT SURE 12% - 11%
You can put this solution on YOUR website! A poll is taken of 1,000 adults after each election.
------
I ran the approval %ages on my TI-84
using the 2-PropZInt function and got
the following 95% confidence interval.
(-0.0166,0.2500)
-----
Conclusion: Since 0 is in the interval
the conclusion would be that the percentages
are statistically the same.
