in a lot of cases, however, the fraction is the most accurate because the decimal might be repeating.
for example, 1/3 is more accurate than .333333333 because the decimal equivalent of 1/3 is a repeating decimal.
accuracy, however, is only as much as required.
if they want the answer to the nearest 10th, then .3 is sufficient.
if to the nearest thousandth, then .333 is sufficient.
