You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The other tutor gave the mean, not the median.

Rule for finding the median.

1. Arrange the numbers from smallest to largest.

2. If there are an odd number of numbers, the median is the
ONE middle-sized number.

3. If there are an even number of numbers, the median is the
average of the TWO middle-sized numbers.

You have an even number of numbers, so we use 3:

      10, 28, 75, 16, 32, 9, 12, 10

Put them in order smallest to largest

       9, 10, 10, 12, 16, 28, 32, 75

Pick the two in the middle:

                  12, 16,

Average them:

                  12 + 16
                  ———————
                     2

                    28
                    ——
                     2

                    14

The median is 14.
