Question 389475: Please help me solve this question.

If 2% of the auto tires manufactured by a company
are defective and 2 tires are randomly selected from an entire week’s production, find the probability
that neither is defective (state your probability as a decimal carried out to the fourth place).

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P(the first tire is NOT defective) is the same as 100% - P(the first tire IS defective):
100% - 2% = 98% or (0.98)
P(the second tire is NOT defective) is the same: 98% (or 0.98).
We need both these events to happen, so we multiply the probabilities together:
.98 * .98 = .9604
