Question 303698: I am doing a reserach project on car and light truck production where I am comparing stats of two auto companies. Is my raw data going to be sample with replacement or sampling without replacement?
Should I use the z-test or the t-test for computing statistical results for inferential testing?

might be interested in the population mean,
or are you studying the proportion of vehicles,
where you might be interested in the population
proportion?

In general, mean's test make use of the t-distribution
and proportion tests make use of the z-distribution.
