Draw a normal curve on a z-axis.
Shade an area to the right of the mean that has 45% of the population.
---------
Use the z-chart that you have to find the z-value on the right end
of the shaded area.
I get z = 1.645
------------------------
You could also have shaded an area to the left of the mean.
If you do that you want the z-value at the left end of the
shaded area.
I get z = -1.645
