| Question 1200154: Treat the number of months X after January 1 that someone is born as uniformly distributed from 0 to 12. Round all answers to 4 decimal places where possible.
 A) What is the distribution of X? ~ U
 (0,12)
 Correct

B)Suppose that 40 people are surveyed. What is the distribution of
 _
 X ~ N
 ( , ) ?
C)What is the probability that the average birth month of the 40 people will be more than 5.5?
 * I got part A correct but I don't understand how to solve letter B and C. I also have been using a TI-84 Calculator for these problems.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! . Treat the number of months X after January 1 that someone is born as uniformly distributed from 0 to 12.

I do not agree that this random variable X is uniformly distributed  [0,12]  inclusive.

It is a discrete random variable uniformly distributed  [1,12]  inclusive,  instead.

As a remainder:   there are  12  months in a year,  and they are traditionally numbered from  1 (January)  to  12 (December).

 Thank you for your attention.

I also noticed that your computer program says  " Correct "  on your answer  (A).

It means that this program is  DEFECTIVE.    Report about this bug to upper instances.
