Question 1169928: An intercontinental Ballistic Missile has 10000 parts. The probability that does not fail during a flight 0.99995, and parts work independently of one another. If any part does not work, the flight is a failure. What is the probability of successful flight? Answer=0.60653(I don't Know If its correct Answer)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
that answer is correct.

the probability that any one part does not fail is .99995.

there are 10,000 parts.

the probability that they will all not fail is .99995 ^ 10000 = .606523077 which rounds to .60653.

the basic concept is:

if two events are independent, then the probability of both events occurring at the same time is the probability of the first event times the probability of the second event.

with 10,000 events, all occurring at the same time, and with the same probability for each, your formula becomes .99995 ^ 10000.

that's what was done above.
