6*5*4=120 ways assuming nobody may hold more than one office.
-
2 ways for the first, then 5 for the second and 4 for the third. 40 ways
-
3*(5*4)=60 the three comes from the three possible offices he may hold
-
3 ways they can hold two offices, 4 people left to take the third office, so 12 ways.
