Question 1155088: Can somebody please help me? I don't get this problem. The National Weather Service (NWS) reports that the probability that Durango will be windy on a
given day is 20%, and the probability that it will be sunny on a given day is 73%. The NWS also reports that the probability Durango will be sunny on a windy day is 34%. What is the probability that Durango will be windy on a sunny day? Report your answer as a percent (rounded to the nearest percent).

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.

This problem is ... how to say it better . . . - playing with terminology.

So, only the person who is familiar with the terminology and is confident in it,  is able to understand this play.

The first statement says about 2 independent events (windy and sunny, separately, 0.2 and 0.73, respectively).

The second statement says about the CONDITIONAL probability, which, translated to the normal human language sounds

. . . the probability that Durango will be sunny, under the condition that it will be windy, is 0.34.

Then the question asks about OTHER conditional probability

. . . What is the probability that Durango will be windy under the condition that it will be sunny ?

.....................

So,  I translated the problem for you in a human language.

Now,  I do not want to deprive you the joy to solve the problem.

If you will be able to do it on your own,  you will be happy.

If not -- then report to me through the  TY  window,  and I will help you . . .

In this case,  please refer to the problem's ID number  1155088  (otherwise,  I will not know to whom to answer).
