The word "SEARCHING" contains 9 different letters.

(a) Drawing with replacement, the probability to get "H" as the first letter is 1%2F9.

The probability to get "A" as the second letter is 1%2F9, too.

Hence, the probability under the question is %281%2F9%29%2A%281%2F9%29 = 1%2F81. ANSWER

(b) Drawing without replacement, the probability to get "H" as the first letter is 1%2F9.

The probability to get "A" as the second letter is 1%2F8, however.

Hence, the probability under the question is %281%2F9%29%2A%281%2F8%29 = 1%2F72. ANSWER
