The solutions by the other two tutors are only half right....

Let the numbers be x and 3x. Then

x%283x%29+=+675
3x%5E2+=+675
x%5E2+=+225
x+=+15 OR x+=+-15

The numbers are EITHER...
x=15 and 3x=45
OR
x=-15 and 3x = -45
