.
Of 100 persons in a company, 70 r married, 80 r college graduates, and 60 are both married and college graduates.
Find the probability that if a person is selected at random from this group, the person will be:

a. Married or not a college graduate.... Their number = n(Married) + n(NOT_college_graduated) - n(Married_AND_college_graduated) =

                                                       = 70 + (100-80) - 60 = 70 + 20 - 60 = 30.

                                                                    So the probability is 30%2F100 = 3%2F10 = 0.3 = 30%.

b. Married and a college graduate.... Their number is 60. The probability is 60%2F100 = 3%2F5 = 0.6 = 60%.

c. Married and not a college graduate. Their number is 70-60 = 10. The probability is 10%2F100 = 1%2F10 = 0.1 = 10%.
