A.) If the first child is a girl, then the family will need to have two more girls to get 3 girls. Getting on girl is 1/2 probability. Getting to girls is a 1/2 * 1/2 probability, which is 1/4. So there is a 1/4 chance of getting three girls given that the first child is a girl.

B.) If the first child is a boy, the probability of getting 3 girls is 0. This is because the family only has three children. If one boy is already born, there are only two children left. It is impossible to give birth to three girls and have two children at the same time, because giving birth to three children will result in having three more children, not to more children.
