Question 1020354: Question A is if variable is normally distributed, mean 35, standard deviation 42, identify the sampling distribution of the sample mean for sample of size 9. Question B is: can you answer part (a) if distribution of the variable under consideration is unknown, but the sample size is 39 instead of 9? why or why not? My response is: Yes, because since the sample size is greater than 30, we would be able to apply the central limit theorem and ensure that the resulting distribution for sample mean is normal. Please tell me, is my answer correct? is there more or less i can add? thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A. The sampling distribution of the sample means for a normal random variable would be normally distributed with mean 35 and standard deviation sigma%2Fsqrt%289%29+=+42%2Fsqrt%289%29+=+42%2F3+=+14
B. Affirmative. You can even say that the sample size doesn't have to be really large, because the underlying population is normally distributed.
