(FIXED MISTAKE)

27p%5E2-48

cross%283%2A3%2Ap%2Ap-12%2A4%29
should be 3%2A3%2A3%2Ap%5E2-12%2A4

3%2A3%2A3%2Ap%2Ap-2%2A2%2A3%2A2%2A2

highlight%28%283%29%283%5E2p%5E2-2%5E4%29%29
which allows factoring difference of squares:
highlight%283%283p-4%29%283p%2B4%29%29

The idea is to break every term into its prime factorizations. This allows you to see all possible distributed factors.
