You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How do I solve this rational equation:
%28x%2B1%29%2Fx+%2B+%28x%2B4%29%2Fx+=6 First, multiply each term by x. This will get rid of the fractions
%28%28x%2B1%29%2Fx%29%28x%29%2B%28%28x%2B4%29%2Fx%29%28x%29=6%2Ax simplifying, we get:
%28x%2B1%29%2B%28x%2B4%29=6x get rid of parens
x%2B1%2Bx%2B4=6x or
2x%2B5=6x subtract 2x from both sides
2x-2x%2B5=6x-2x further simplifying
5=4x divide both sides by 4
x=5%2F4-------------------ans
