Question 915795: Which of the following are polynomials? If the function is a polynomial, give the degree and the leading
coefficient (LC). If the function is not a polynomial, give a polynomial property that it fails to have.
(For each function write Polynomial?
i. f(x) = π – x/4
ii. g(x ) = 3^x
iii. h(x) = (2x + 6)(x – 3)^2 ( x + 1)^3
please explain why,
Thank you

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Which of the following are polynomials? If the function is a polynomial, give the degree and the leading coefficient (LC). If the function is not a polynomial, give a polynomial property that it fails to have.
(For each function write Polynomial?
i. f(x) = π – x/4:::: Is a polynomial::: LC = -1/4
---------------------------------
ii. g(x ) = 3^x::: Is not a polynomial::: variable is an exponent
----------------------------------
iii. h(x) = (2x + 6)(x – 3)^2 ( x + 1)^3 ::: Is a polynomial:::
h(x) = (2x+6)(x^2-6x+9)(x^3 etc)
Highest power term = 2x*x^2*x^3 = 2x^6
LC = 2
