y=%28x-1%29%5E2-4
vertex = (1, -4)
Put y = 0 in equation to find the x -intercept
y=x%5E2-2x-3

x%5E2-2x-3+=+0
(x - 3)(x+1) = 0
x = 3 & x = -1

Put x = 0 in equation to find the y -intercept
