You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Please help me on this problem.
Steve is two thirds as old as Alex. In seven years, Steve will be three fourths as old as Alex. How old are they now?
Thank you.

Let Alex’ current age be A
Then Steve’s is: %282%2F3%29A, or 2A%2F3

2A%2F3+%2B+7+=+%283%2F4%29%28A+%2B+7%29

2A%2F3+%2B+7+=+%283A+%2B+21%29%2F4

8A + 84 = 3(3A + 21) ------- Multiplying by LCD, 12
8A + 84 = 9A + 63
8A – 9A = 63 – 84
- A = - 21

A, or Alex’ current age = %28-+21%29%2F-+1, or highlight_green%2821%29

Steve’s current age = %282%2F3%2921, or highlight_green%2814%29

You can do the check!!
