25x^2-90x-81
25 can be equal to 1*25 or 5*5
81 can be equal to 1*81 or 3*27 or 9*9
since the third term is negative and the middle term is negative, then the middle term will be a difference between the factors obtained.
i tried factoring but it didn't work.
i then went to the quadratic formula.
set your expression to 0 to get:
25x^2 - 90x - 80 = 0
a = 25
b = -90
c = -80
using the quadratic formula, i get roots of:
x = -0.7377
x = +4.3377
you can also graph the equation and see where the roots would be graphically.
