Nether of these is the longest side (the hypotenuse)so as it is a right triangle we can take one side as the base and the other as the height
So area=1/2(x-7y)(x+6y)=1/2(x^2-xy-42y^2) sq.ft

The area of the right triangle is A=%281%2F2%29+ab
Where a and b are the legs of the right triangle
The shortest side a=x-7y ft., the middle length side b=x+%2B+6y ft.
Therefore the area is
A=%281%2F2%29%28x-7y%29%28x%2B6y%29
