Question 478640: I am working on an equation that I am to answer in standard form. Ok I understand that. When I went to check my answer on an online problem solver the answer differs from what I got and I do not see why.
(6a^3+2a^2-7)+(2a^3-a+7)
here is what i did:
6a^3 + 2a^3 = 8a^3
2a^2 + (-a) = a
(-7) + 7 = 0
so my answer is 8a^3 +a
from problem solvers the answer is : 8a^3 +2a^2-a
which is correct? Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! (6a^3 + 2a^2 - 7)+(2a^3 - a + 7)
Combine like terms
6a^3 + 2a^3 + 2a^2 - a + 7 + 7
8a^3 + 2a^2 - a
