(4x^2-7x+2)+(-x^2+x-2) This is not an equation. It doesn't have an equal sign with some other numbers on the other side of the equal sign.
It is an expression which can be simplified:
=4x^2-7x+2-x^2+x-2
=3x^2-6x simplified expression or 3x(x-2) factored expression.
