SOLUTION: I have been trying to solve this rational expression to get the LCD
6m^2/3m+15,2/(m+5)2
factor each denominator
3m+15=3(m+5)
(m+5)2=(m+5)2
answer I got=LCD=3(m+5)2

Question 406185: I have been trying to solve this rational expression to get the LCD
6m^2/3m+15,2/(m+5)2
factor each denominator
3m+15=3(m+5)
(m+5)2=(m+5)2
answer I got=LCD=3(m+5)2
the problem is that the first denominator has to be three terms and I cannot figure out what i'm doing wrong. Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! I have been trying to solve this rational expression to get the LCD
6m^2/3m+15,2/(m+5)2
factor each denominator
3m+15=3(m+5)
(m+5)2=(m+5)2
answer I got=LCD=3(m+5)2
the problem is that the first denominator has to be three terms and I cannot figure out what i'm doing wrong.
-------------------
LCD = 3(m+5)^2 as you said
You could reduce the first term
= 2m^2/(m+5) then the LCD = (m+5)^2
Is that all you want to do, find the LCD?
I don't know what you mean, "has to be 3 terms..." ???
