Question 39953: Tim is twice as old as his son. In 6 yrs Tim’s age will be three times what his sons age was 6 years ago. How old is Tim’s son now?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Tim is 2x years old
His son is x years old.
In 6 years Tim's age 2x+6
His son's age in 6 years x+6
Now Tim will be 3 times of what he was 6 years ago so:
x+6-12-->x-6
EQUATION:
3(x-6)=2x+6
3x-18=2x+6
x=24
2(24)=48
Hence, Tim is 48 years old and his son is 24 years old.
