Simply multiply both sides by 2 to get x=22%2A2 which becomes x=44


Check: To verify the answer, plug the answer back in for x to get %281%2F2%29%2844%29=22 and evaluate %281%2F2%29%2844%29 to get %281%2F2%29%2844%29=44%2F2=22


So %281%2F2%29%2844%29=22 becomes 22=22, so our answer has been verified.
