(x-5)/(x-6)=1/(x-6)
x-5=1 multiply each side by x-6
x=6 but x cannot equal 6 because there would be division by zero in the denominator.
The equation has no answer. x is undefined.

If I am understanding the question correctly

.
Cross multiplying gives
1*(x-6) = (x-5)*(x-6)
.
Dividing both sides of the equation by (x-6)
1 = x-5
.
would give...
6 = x
.
As one cannot "divide by zero", there are no values of x that would satisfy the equation given.
