Question 314079: Factor completely 8t^2 + 18t + 9=
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! This is what I call "Advanced Trinomial Factoring." Realize that a TRINOMIAL usually factors into the product of two binomials.
8t^2+8t+9
The first times first will probably begin with 4t *2t
(4t+____)(2t+____)
The last times last will probably be 3*3. The question is this: Will your middle term come out to 18t.
(4t+3)(2t+3) The middle term is 4t*3 + 3*2t, which is 12t +6t, which is correct 18t, and this is correct.
Final answer (4t+3)(2t + 3)
