Question 268884: Good morning guys.
My question:
Simplify (4x^2-y^2)/(2x+y)
_____________
8x^3-y^3
I factored each term
(2x-y)(2x+y)/(2x+y)
_______________
(2x+y)(2x-y)(2x+y)
Cancelled out the like terms.
I believe my answer is either
1
_____________
4x^2+2xy+y^2
Or
4x^2-2xy+y^2

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Simplify (4x^2-y^2)/(2x+y)
_____________
8x^3-y^3
I factored each term
(2x-y)(2x+y)/(2x+y)
_______________
(2x+y)(2x-y)(2x+y) **** = (2x-y)*(4x^2 + 2xy + y^2)
--------------------
--------------------
Cancelled out the like terms.
I believe my answer is either
1
_____________
4x^2+2xy+y^2
-------------- This is correct, tho I don't see how you got it.
= 1%2F%284x%5E2+%2B+2xy+%2B+y%5E2%29
--------------
Or
4x^2-2xy+y^2 This is close, not correct.
