Step 1. Factor out x from the first two terms and factor out y in the last two terms.


x%5E2%2B5x%2Bxy%2B5y=x%28x%2B5%29%2By%28x%2B5%29

Step 2. Now, notice x%2B5 is common to both groups with parenthesis. So factor out x%2B5

x%5E2%2B5x%2Bxy%2B5y=%28x%2B5%29%28x%2By%29

Step 3. ANSWER: x%5E2+%2B+5x+%2B+xy+%2B+5y=%28x%2B5%29%28x%2By%29
