Question 207017: Please help! I have forgotten how to do this!
Estimate the x- and y-intercepts for the function y=x^3+2x^2+2
A similar problem I'm having trouble with is x^4+2x^3+x^2=0
THANK YOU!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the x-intercept means y=0 and vice versa

y-int is easy ___ plugging in 0 for x ___ y-int is +2

ESTIMATING x-int ___ y is 0 between x=-2 and x=-3

factoring the 2nd problem ___ x^2 (x^2 + 2x + 1) ___ x^2 (x + 1)^2

so the x-intercepts (roots) are 0, 0, -1, -1 (two double roots)

y-int (@ x=0) is 0
