34. If we let q=number of quarters that you have, then if I have 5 more quarters than you do, then I'll have q+5 quarters.
35. Let's make t=number of hours it takes to finish a chore. If you are allotted 3 hrs to finish, then this means that 3-t is the number of hours you'll have left over after you've finished. For example, if you complete the job in 2.5 hours, then you will have 3-2.5=0.5 hours (or 30 min) left over.
