SOLUTION: Re: Sums of rational expressions. I am to simplify: (x-y)/(x+y) + (x+y)/(x-y) Here is my answer:(x-y)/(x+y) + (x+y)/(x-y)= (x-y)(x-y)+(x+y)(x+y)/(x+y)(x-y)= 2x^2+2y^2/(x+y

Question 204604: Re: Sums of rational expressions. I am to simplify:
(x-y)/(x+y) + (x+y)/(x-y)
Here is my answer:(x-y)/(x+y) + (x+y)/(x-y)=
(x-y)(x-y)+(x+y)(x+y)/(x+y)(x-y)=
2x^2+2y^2/(x+y)(x-y)
My question is: Did I simpliy this correctly? Can it be simplified further?
Thank you for your help!
