which factors of 12 can "combine" to give 8??

2*6=12 ___ 2+6=8

so the trinomial factors into (x+2)(x+6)

I have two questions i have tried
to solve and just can not get the solution. I would appreciate it if
you would please help me with the following problems:
6x^2-4x+3x-2 and 12x^2+3x-8x-2

the reason these have more than one x term is that they are set up to solve by grouping

(6x^2-4x) + (3x-2) ___ 2x(3x-2) + 1(3x-2) ___ (2x+1)(3x-2)

(12x^2+3x) - (8x+2) ___ 3x(4x+1) - 2(4x+1) ___ (3x-2)(4x+1)
