3x^2 - x [4 - 3 (x-4)]
Start by distributing the 3 to terms inside the parenthesis:
3x^2 - x [4-3x+12]
3x^2 - x [-3x+16]
Distribute the 'x' to terms inside the brackets:
3x^2 + 3x^2 + 16x
6x^2+16x
At this point, you can factor out 2x:
2x(3x+8)
