Your answer is correct! Here's how you would get it:
%2840%2Fa%29-4+=+0 First, add 4 to both sides.
40%2Fa+=+4 Next, multiply both sides by a.
40+=+4a Finally, divide both sides by 4.
40%2F4+=+a so...
a+=+10

Answer by stanbon(75887) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(40/a) - 4 = 0
(40/a) = 4
Multiply both sides by a to get:
40 = 4a
a = 10
