The Factor Theorem. Test 2 as a possible root using synthetic division. If remainder is 0, then (x-2) is a factor of f(x) and x=2 is a solution of f(x)=0.

You CAN use polynomial division, instead. You would choose the divisor as x-2 and should expect the remainder to be 0.
